HOTSCOPE is a GDSII and mask data viewer developed by DNP of Japan, one of the largest photomask manufacturers in the world. The software is capable of reading and displaying in a graphical format all layers of GDSII and/or mask data with extreme efficiency. HOTSCOPE also links seamlessly with the industry leading design rule checking (DRC) and layout-versus-schematic (LVS) tool for easy verification.

Manufacturing data preparation requiring OPC, RET, and dummy pattern insertion has driven the mask pattern data size to the 10s of gigabyte level. Conventional EDA tools are incapable of handling such data sizes with reasonable response time. HOTSCOPE is built to handle such large sets with ease, as well as supporting concurrent access across networks from multiple users.
